From your supplier’s address to a South African port
Inntol coordinates collection from any address in China, cargo consolidation, road or rail transport within China, origin port charges, export handling and sea freight to the agreed destination port. Send the factory or warehouse address and identify whether your goods are packed and ready for collection.
Buying from several suppliers? Include each collection city, the goods and package count. We can consolidate the China-side movement before the ocean shipment. The quote identifies the receiving point, cargo handover and charges for each stage.
Choose the request that fits your purchase
Durban, Cape Town or Ngqura?
Name the discharge port in your request. Durban, Cape Town and Ngqura have container terminals; the best gateway for your shipment also depends on the importer’s receiving location, the offered sailing and the onward movement arranged in South Africa. If the port is undecided, send the final receiving city so the quotation can identify which port is being priced.
The ocean arrival estimate runs to the named port. Keep the discharge terminal, any transshipment and the shipment’s cargo-ready date visible when comparing services.
What your transport quote covers
- China collection: supplier address, number of collection points and loading requirements.
- Origin work: consolidation where required, inland road or rail, origin port charges and export handling.
- Ocean movement: FCL equipment or LCL consolidation, loading and discharge ports, route and applicable freight surcharges.
- Commercial terms: currency, validity, payment terms, cargo handover and the precise destination endpoint.
South African arrival costs: request the destination carrier or your receiving agent’s tariff for handling and release. Your nominated importer and customs clearing agent arrange import formalities, duty, VAT and onward delivery. Keep these amounts separate from the China-to-port freight quote when building the complete import budget.
Prepare the South African import side before loading
Confirm the importer and clearing agent early. SARS sets importer-registration requirements, including arrangements for foreign importers. Your broker should check product classification and the documents needed for the declaration. Start with the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading details, matched to the actual goods and parties.
Used goods, second-hand goods, waste and scrap are subject to import controls; controlled products can require an ITAC permit. Product-specific compulsory specifications may also apply. Check these requirements with your importer before the cargo leaves China.
Official guidance: SARS importer registration and South African import permits.
FCL or LCL for this shipment?
For FCL, send container type if known and the packed dimensions and weight. For LCL, provide the outside dimensions of each package group, total gross weight and stackability. Use the volume planner below, then add the commodity and ready date to the brief.
Flag batteries, liquids, chemicals, oversized pieces or other special handling requirements in the first message so cargo acceptance and documentation can be assessed before a rate is offered.
